STEREOTYPING

Stereotyping is exaggerated generalized associated generalized associated with a categorizing system, they go beyond the facts at hand and make claims that usually have no valid basis. it is also something that most people find difficult to avoid from doing. what do you think ?

What is stereotyping?

actually this the first time for me heard about that. According to Human Communication forth edition, stereotyping is prejudgment that we make before we know any relevant facts or circumstances about a person or an event.  how the stereotyping related to our society and our thought. for a simple definition is we categorizes other people into a few group based on variety such as age, sex, race, occupation , appearance and physical abilities. 

Basically, stereotyping is something common that usually happened in our society in many years ago. it is something that we can to avoid it in our society. and so do i. Actually, our expectations and our interpretations of the behavior of others will be guided by these of perception. we observe, exaggerate and overestimate, how frequency they engage in the stereotyping we believe they hold behavior. I also make stereotype to other especially when i saw masculine guy. it will make my own conclusion that this type of men that masculine is soft guy. so, that i will isolate from this kind of people as i believe that they will be give bad influence to me. as we see that, that is we called as a stereotype based on the appearance. 

this kind of "perception" become more worst and i do believes that it will be more bigger if we do not prevent this problem quickly. i believes that stereotyping is something not truly right and true because it happened when we think negative to other people and accuse them without any concrete evidence. it will be make trouble when it can lead to  fight if we accuse 
to innocent people. 
even though, we can say that stereotype is unusual and familiar around us, but actually it is something that very common and give bad influence to our community. it is like a bad "virus" that will harm our community in slowly.  so i think that, we need to think before stereotype others people. 

PLEASE STOP STEREOTYPE TO OTHERS

Treat them as a normal person.

Read the newspaper excerpt dated 3 March 2013 taken from New Strait Times. you will write you opinion

 that as a response that will be sent to Viewpoint, a column where readers can share their thoughts. 

I had read an article that taken from New Straits Times that Prisoners to get varsity-level courses that published on 3 March 2013. This article is quite attract me to give my opinion about this topic. i think this idea is really brilliant and i'm totally agreed with this action. it is because prisoner also humans that have their own rights to live well in life. As for me, education is something that needed to us to get a better life in the future and same goes to them. Not all of them do not like to study, but maybe they do not chance to their ability and we need to give moral support to them . basically, mostly of them doing the crime because of money and they do not opportunity to prove their ability. Basically, most of prisoner can perform well in educational level or skill level and because of this "support" maybe can help them to have their own aim and goals to change their life style after they get  out from prison. 

 From my view this "support" can reduces the number of prisoners in prison because after they out from prison, they will never turn back again because they have their own ability to compete with others people. i truly believe that, their mind will be more open and they will think twice and carefully to commit crime after get out from there. i am quite attract with a statement which is 

"The Open University Malaysia has offered 10 scholarship in various fields to the prisoners". 

As we can see that, the person is comes out with this project is really brilliant because not all the people can think to do it. from this action, we can see that, The Prisoner Department is really looking forward  to help the prisoner to improve their life. 

Even though, The Prisoner Department take a good action to give moral support to prisoner but our citizen also need give moral support too. It is because mostly when we know someone that have bad background, we will have negative perception towards them. this not good to them because everyone makes mistake in life. so, we need to erase the negative perception toward them in order to give opportunity to them to change their life style. i would like to share with the readers a interesting quote 

"No matter how much you cry to it won't change you past . but crying over all you sins may improve your future". 

SeNiOr vs Mine

You heard comments and maybe grievances from your seniors Critical Literacy, but what is/are your expectation or hope for this subject as you are just started.

this entry i am gonna share about my expectation towards this subject which is Critical Literacy.
actually, last semester, i did ask to a few of my seniors about this subject. mostly they gives me the same advice and comment about this subject such as this subject is quite harder and need to think critically.
but only a person that claimed differently compared to others that quite attract me to take her advice and comment as a motivation.

me: sis, i wanna to ask you about Critical Literacy. what is your opinion about this subject?
senior : CL. haha. for me this subject is quite interesting and i love it.
me: interesting? why do you say that? mostly the senior claimed that CL is quite difficult subject in semester 4.
senior: difficult? for me CL is interesting because this subject can teach and help us how to think critically to solve the problem.then we will be able to apply in our life. for example this subject teach us how to choose only one side which is agree or not. we cannot be neutral and because of that, we can decide the solution quickly.

think?? CRITICAL LITERACY.. i need to think.!!!

based on what i heard from different senior and my early experience about this subject, it gives me a simple conclusion which is nothing impossible in our life if we do it in right way. what all the senior said about this subject is right which is this subject quite difficult and it needs you to read a lots such as articles and news. but i do believe that
 A MIRACLE APPEARS AFTER WORK HARD AND HOPES WILL BE HOPELESS WITHOUT EFFORT. 

so that,to make my dreams comes true, i need to be more harder in this subject compared others subject.
so, the first things i do is try to convince and change my mind set from negative to positive thinker.
then, i tries my best to focus in CL's class and how to be a critical thinker. now, even though, i can say that my experience is quite early, but for me. this subject is challenging and i love it.

i hope that, after mastered with this subject i will be a critical thinker that can stands with my own decision and opinion with a concrete evidence and analyzing.

Brain and perceptions ..

In my opinion based on what I watched in the documentary, National Geographic Test Your Brains and Perspection, it teaches me a lot on how to view something. In this video, its state that, life is full of illusion and how brains work to produce the first perception about something. For example, in this video had shown about a few games that had conducted by a few scientists .
The scientist had found that brains, sense and perception can walk along together. It means that, what's the first thing that we see, is a perception.

BEAU LOTTO had claimed that:

"What is the illusion telling us is that what is trying to see not what it is but something else."

In the other word, brains can produce illusion based on what we see, hear and touch.  What we see it sis does means that it is true. The both sides which are left and right side of brains automatically can make perceptions based on first sight of view. But without our knowing, our brains constantly being fooled by the senses.

BEAU LOTTO.

He has started his video by showing a part of our brain (visual cortex ), it shows that our brains get the data and information that came from what what we see. He had provided a few games and testing to a few people. For example, he had demonstrated the change of color at cube that have a lot of color.

In this picture show that the upside is brown and downside in orange color, but actually, our brains have been fooled by the change of illusion and shadow. The two of them are the same color . This color could be changed by different surrounding around it. The new color invented by the shadow itself.

He claimed that illusion, sense and brains are one. What we see is not what it is.
"When we are watching someone else do something, our brains don't watch but convince to do it too."
It shows that, our brain has been fooled by sense.

Our brains always trust in what we see. When the others are hurting themselves, we also can feel the pain even though we did not hurt ourselves. our brain makes the perception of what we what we see and it decodes by the brain and we can feel the same as what we see.

How Do you view about the pregnant women in industrial work placement ????

This is my second entry.

 This entry I wanna to talk about my own perception or view about

PREGNANT WOMEN IN INDUSTRIAL WORK PLACEMENT. 

AND

In my opinion, it is quite okay but everyone need to be more concerned about her. 

 What I mean that, everyone should be more consider with her condition. For example her manager or boss should be more tolerant with her by do not give her to do something heavy and stressful works that might affect to her pregnancy such she can not to lift heavy things. 

Besides that, herself should be to choose jobs that suitable to her condition because she needs to think about her baby in her tummy. For example, if the factory using a lot of chemical substances , might be it can affect to her baby in the future such as lung cancer, asthma and heart. So, it is not being a problem for pregnant women to work in industrial work placement. In a nutshell, as long as that works are halal, so, in my opinion it is okay but everyone need to concern with this particular person. 

My first perspection about CL

I'm here to talk about my first perspective about Critical Literacy (CL). 

First of all, I want to introduce myself. My name is Nur Nadzirah binti Zulkifli. i'm semester 4c Decom. 

       

  what is CL?..

When I ask a few of people. Their comments ... 

My mentor : this subject is quite killer subject. so you need strunggle this subject. dont play2.

Senior 1 : this subject is quite interesting.

Senior 2 : this is killer subject.

Senior 3: this subject quite killer but if you do the assignment that had given then it will be nice to you. :D

Me: I'm quite afraid and I don't know.

MY HOPE: i hope that this subject will help me to be a critical thinker and will be increased my pointer this semester. In Sha Allah.
